CCTV footage has captured a shocking armed robbery at the Okyeso Nyame gold-buying shop in Mpohor, Western Region. Four armed men stormed the shop in broad daylight, escaping with about GH¢800,000 and 100 pounds of gold.
Before the attack, one of the suspects—now in police custody—was seen calmly sitting outside the shop, pretending to chat while secretly surveying the place. Moments later, the gang launched their attack.
The robbers assaulted two workers and also attacked a man who unknowingly walked into the shop. One victim was beaten and slashed with a machete, while others who complied with their orders were spared further harm.
The robbery lasted about seven minutes before the criminals fled with their loot. Police have arrested one suspect and are on a manhunt for the rest. The injured victim is receiving treatment as investigations continue.
