New Force Apologizes After Bodyguard Assaults Supporter at Public Event

The New Force political movement has publicly apologized after a viral video showed a member of its security team assaulting a supporter. The incident occurred when a fan attempted to approach the movement's leader, Nana Kwame Bediako (also known as Cheddar), and was unexpectedly punched in the stomach by a bodyguard. The attack, widely condemned as unprovoked, sparked outrage across social media.

In response, the New Force issued a strongly worded statement expressing deep regret and condemning the behavior. They emphasized that the supporter posed no threat and deserved to be treated with respect and dignity. The movement apologized to the victim, their family, and the Ghanaian public, acknowledging the disappointment the incident caused.

The New Force has launched an immediate investigation and promised that the bodyguard will face legal and internal disciplinary actions. They reaffirmed their commitment to transparency, accountability, and democratic values, assuring the public that steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future—especially as they gain momentum ahead of the 2024 elections.
